Identity

Hello! My name is Emily Heneghan and I am currently studying film in Chicago. I’m 18 and like expressing myself in many ways, but filmmaking and storytelling I am the most passionate about! I also sell clothing I make on Depop by the user lifeofpie, I made this short film over the summer with a 0 dollar budget. Here is the explanation

I aimed to show the journey of finding your identity through highs and lows. The character Hannah is living in a beautiful world of her own and having fun, finally feeling free from her thoughts as they creep in on her. The drugs she takes can be perceived as chasing a high, (it is more symbolic than literal) chasing an escape from the cycle of emotions and worry. The atmospheres, whether dreamy or chaotic, are meant to be reflections of her. This can even be perceived as a dream. Her emotions fluctuate, and in the end she reflects what she feels she is, which is very freeing. The cycle of emotions one goes through while understanding their beliefs and the world around them.

My goal for being an artist is to tell stories that make us all feel more human.
