Artist Feature - Mackenzie Shaw

What are we going to leave behind? I find some of that answer in what we consume. My art is

collaging objects of commodification with a questioning of their function. Sometimes leaning into

contentious materials to expose their tropes. The mediums themselves—ads, porn, home catalogues—

juxtapose the final products of my work: subverting the very things they once were. With humour, with

irony, and with much earnestness, we must ask Why? For what purpose? What really matters? And

realize nothing matters, until we make it matter.
