Sad Fairy

The idea for this piece did not start out completely thought out, much like anything that starts out. Originally it was planned out to just be a regular degular whimsical fairy shoot, then something happened. I lapsed. I began to go through a depressive episode days before the shoot was scheduled and the depression, like most episodes, had no prior triggers. I was just .. down. But instead of holding myself at a standstill, I decided that I wanted to voice this feeling instead of running from it or pretending it wasn’t happening. So I told my photographer that I wanted to my fairy to be sad. When she asked why, I answered that it was because I wanted to voice that one could be sad but still magical, and she agreed. So we put together things rather quickly and shot soon after.
